NSW Digital Skills and Workforce Compact Brings Generation Australia and Accenture Together to Strengthen the State’s Future Workforce
The Digital Skills Compact has brought together two committed partners in a shared mission to build Australia’s future talent pipeline. Generation Australia and Accenture have formalised a major three-year partnership shaped through the Compact, demonstrating the power of collaboration between organisations that create pathways into work and those that put those into action.
What the Digital Skills Compact Is
The NSW Digital Skills and Workforce Compact is a statewide initiative that connects employers, training providers, government and community organisations around one shared goal, to build a stronger and more inclusive digital workforce for Australia. The Compact set its direction last year and continues to build momentum this year, with partners like Generation Australia and Accenture supporting the initiative year on year. It sets a target for 20% of future digital talent to come through alternative pathways, supported by industry backed training and real employment opportunities.
About Generation Australia
Generation Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that helps unemployed and underemployed Australians reskill into in demand tech and care roles. The organisation connects graduates with employers who need this talent, while widening access to meaningful careers for people who are often overlooked in the labour market. More than 50% of Generation learners have dependents, 84% come from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and 60% are women. This focus on inclusive pathways strengthens workplaces across Australia and supports industries facing ongoing skills shortages.
A Partnership Strengthened Through the Compact
Generation Australia and Accenture have partnered on numerous occasions in the past, working together to create job opportunities and support people into meaningful careers.
Through this renewed collaboration, Accenture has committed $1.68 million AUD over three years to support more than 1,400 learners across Generation Australia’s tech and care programs. This investment builds on work already underway, with 42 Generation graduates employed at Accenture to date, demonstrating the impact of partnerships grounded in shared purpose and real workforce needs.

“At Generation Australia, we believe talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. This partnership with Accenture helps change that,” said Karena Newland, CEO of Generation Australia. “We are very excited and proud to be working with Accenture to help shape a more inclusive and future-ready workforce for Australia.”
Programs That Are Employer Driven and Future Ready
Learners gain practical experience, a clear line of sight to work and connections to employers ready to hire. Employers gain talent shaped by real industry needs.
Every Generation program is employer driven and grounded in wraparound support, soft skills skill development and industry insight, ensuring learners are prepared for real jobs from day one.
This deeper alignment with the Compact reinforces that alternative pathways are not theoretical. They are a practical, proven way to build a more inclusive, future ready workforce for NSW.
