Robert Assaf

Director

Robert Assaf brings deep experience across corporate affairs, government relations, communications, and stakeholder engagement. He has worked extensively at the intersection of policy, investment, and social impact, helping organisations translate complex government and industry priorities into clear, outcome-driven strategies.

Most recently, Robert served as Director of External Communications and Engagement at the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation (NRFC), Australia’s $15 billion sovereign investor in manufacturing. In this role, he led the organisation’s communications, media, and stakeholder engagement strategy, connecting business, government, and the community to drive investment in Australia’s future industries. His earlier experience includes working in Federal Parliament as a ministerial advisor, where he supported ministers on policy and communications priorities and strategies.

Robert is passionate about education, skilling, and economic empowerment, particularly for underrepresented groups. As the son of refugee and migrant parents, he understands firsthand the power of education and opportunity to transform lives. These values strongly align with Generation Australia’s mission.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts and Education and has contributed to national initiatives in innovation, skills development, and social impact.
