With support from start to finish and pathways to paid Aged Care roles with employer partners; gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make a difference in this vital sector. This unique, pre-employment program will prepare, support and guide you into a rewarding career in Aged Care.
Aged Care Foundations Program
Undertake a comprehensive, 5-week foundational program to prepare you for a role in the Aged Care sector. This program will include an introduction to the aged care sector, basic technical training in personal care concepts, and key human and soft skills to help you start an Aged Care role with confidence. This program will be delivered online.
Employment Pathways to Aged Care Roles
Upon successful completion of the Aged Care Foundations program, you will have the chance to participate in interview opportunities with our employer partners. You will be exposed to employers who are actively seeking to hire, offering pathways for on-the-job training and experience, as well as the possibility to work towards a nationally recognized qualification in some cases. These opportunities can help you start your career in Aged Care!
What roles are available?
Residential Aged Care Worker
Residential aged care workers provide care and support to older adults who can no longer live at home. They typically work in aged care homes and help clients with daily activities like bathing, dressing, and eating. They monitor clients’ health and work with healthcare professionals to ensure high standards of care. They also offer clients companionship and emotional support. The role requires compassion, patience, and the ability to handle physical and emotional needs in a structured group environment.
Home & Community Care Worker
Home & community care workers support older adults living in their homes. They typically work in their clients’ homes and communities, and assist clients with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning, and shopping; helping their clients maintain independence. They also provide personal care, such as bathing and dressing, and ensure their clients’ living environments are safe and comfortable. This role requires flexibility, empathy, and the ability to work independently.
Note: This role involves travelling between clients’ homes and you will need to have a current driver license and access to a registered and insured car.

Requirements
- Are available for the duration of the 5-week online Foundations Program (Mon-Fri, 10am to 2.30pm)and can commit employment afterward
- Are not currently in education, training, or full-time employment
- Have good written and verbal English language skills
- Have basic tech skills
- Are an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident equivalent including Humanitarian Visa holders for traineeship roles (currently available for Orange, Bathurst and Dubbo residents only) or full working rights in Australia for Home and Community Care roles
- Are likely to get a clear Police Check (National + International) and NDIS Check
- Are passionate about supporting and empowering others
- Access to a car and a drivers’ licence for home and community care roles

These sessions aim to provide participants with the interpersonal & behavioural skills and mindsets to help them succeed in the workplace.

ORIENTATION (ONLINE)
2 daysThe first two days of the course are Orientation days. During these days, you will get to meet your instructors, program coordinator, and fellow classmates. We will go through everything you need to know to start the program together.
