With support from start to finish and pathways to paid roles in Aged Care or Disability Support Work with employer partners, gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make a difference in this vital sector. This unique, pre-employment program will prepare, support and guide you into a rewarding career in Care.

Care Foundations Program
Undertake a comprehensive, 4-week foundational program to prepare you for a role in Aged Care or Disability Support Work. This program will include an introduction to the sector, basic technical training in personal care concepts, and key human and soft skills to help you start a Care role with confidence. This program will be delivered in-person.

Employment Pathways to Care Roles
Upon successful completion of the Care Foundations Program, you will have the chance to participate in interview opportunities with our employer partners. You will be exposed to employers who are actively seeking to hire in Aged Care or Disability Support Work, offering pathways for on-the-job training and experience, as well as the possibility to work towards a nationally recognised qualification in some cases. These opportunities can help you start your career in Care!

What roles are available?

Upon completing the Care Foundations Program, you’ll have the foundational knowledge and skills to step into entry-level roles in Aged Care or Disability Support Work. The program prepares you for real-world work and helps you build connections with employer partners.

Roles you can apply for include:

• Disability Support Worker (Entry Level) – Assist individuals with daily activities, community participation and personal care under supervision.
• Community Support Worker – Support people with disability to engage in social and recreational activities.
• Residential Aged Care Worker – Support older adults in aged care homes with daily activities like bathing, dressing and eating, while monitoring their health and wellbeing.
• Home & Community Care Worker – Support older adults living at home with daily tasks like cooking, cleaning and personal care, helping them maintain independence. Requires a current driver’s licence and access to a registered and insured car, as this role involves travelling between clients’ homes.

Many graduates use this program as a stepping stone before pursuing further qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support, opening up additional career pathways.

Requirements

You can apply if you:

• Are available for the duration of the training
• Are looking to start a role in Disability Support Work or Aged Care as soon as possible
• Identify as First Nations and a female
• Are not currently in education, training, or full-time employment
• Are likely to obtain a clear Police Check (National + International), NDIS Check and Working with Children Check
• Have a valid driver’s licence (P1 or above) Preferred
• Have access to a reliable and insured vehicle (preferred)
• Have basic tech skills
• Are passionate about supporting and empowering the elderly community and people living with disability
